The Rare Wine Co. Historic Series names each Madeira for an American seaport; since 2002 every bottling is made by Ricardo Diogo Vasconcelos de Freitas at Vinhos Barbeito. Baltimore Rainwater revives the pale, delicate style once prized by Baltimore connoisseurs, built from 80% Verdelho plus two lots of old Tinta Negra Mole, aged by the traditional canteiro method. Bottled Medium Dry at 18% alcohol.

A Madeira of ethereal body, great finesse, delicate flavours and just a touch of sweetness, taking its name from the pale colour and delicate texture of the original 19th-century style.
