Sur de los Andes was founded in 2005 by Guillermo Banfi, a Franco-Argentine who left a career in finance to build a boutique winery at the foot of the Andes in Las Compuertas, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza. This Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% varietal, fermented with indigenous yeasts and five days of cold maceration, completes full malolactic fermentation in barrel, and is aged with roughly half the blend spending 6-9 months in oak.
