Fuso is PortoVino's project to find and bottle Italy's natural, terroir-driven daily drinkers, working with growers committed to organic and low-intervention winemaking. Cala is produced by Dario Serrentino in the Val di Noto, southeastern Sicily, from 20-60-year-old bush vines certified organic by Bioagricert, grown on white and grey limestone and clay soils at sea level. Nero d'Avola is co-fermented with a small portion of Grillo and macerated on the skins for 6 days, then aged 6 months on the lees in steel with native-yeast fermentation and full malolactic. CALA is the word for 'grape' in Sicilian dialect. ABV 12%.
