Sophie Bertin is a cuvee born of the partnership between Eric Louis, a Sancerre grower-negociant, and Sophie Bertin, a woman deeply rooted in the Sancerre region -- the name Sophie, meaning wisdom, reflects the more feminine, supple style of the cuvee. The rose is an 80% Pinot Noir / 20% Cot (Malbec) blend grown on clay-limestone soils in the Loire Valley near Sancerre, certified sustainable, with grapes pressed slowly after harvest and only brief skin contact to extract color and aromatic power.
