Profile & Story
Castello Banfi is one of Tuscany's largest and most established wine estates. This Chianti Superiore DOCG is built on a blend of predominantly Sangiovese with smaller proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo, macerated on the skins for 8 days in temperature-controlled steel before malolactic fermentation and 4-5 months in barrique, followed by extended bottle aging.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red with an intense aroma of ripe red fruit, cherries and spice; ripe black cherry, plum and black currant on the palate, with cedar, vanilla and tobacco through the mid-palate and a structured, food-friendly finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Ideal with red-sauced pastas, roasted or grilled meats, and aged cheeses.
