Denis & Didier Berthollier are 5th-generation growers on an 11-hectare estate in Chignin, Savoie, farmed organically and biodynamically (Demeter-certified) since 1850. Argile sur Schiste is 100% Jacquere, the signature grape of the Chignin appellation, grown on the clay-over-schist soils the cuvee is named for; vinified without added sulfur (a small amount only at bottling) with extended aging in vat, barrel or amphora.
