Schloss Gobelsburg is a Cistercian monastic estate in Austria's Kamptal valley founded in 1171, held by Cistercian monks since 1740 and run since 1996 by Michael and Eva Moosbrugger. The Cistercien Rosé is made from Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Pinot Noir grown on the estate's cooler sites in Gobelsburg and Langenlois; the estate treats its rosé as a wine in its own right rather than a secondary red-wine byproduct.
Tasting Notes
A delicate, pale rosé with soft scents of tart summer berries and rose petals, showing a spicier edge and fruitier notes of freshly cut apple on the midpalate. Dry, fresh and lean, made for immediate, versatile drinking.
