Profile & Story
Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 in Reims. Yellow Label Brut is the Maison's emblematic cuvée, a blend of 50-55% Pinot Noir, 28-33% Chardonnay and 15-20% Meunier from 50-60 crus, elevated by 25-45% reserve wines aged up to 30 years.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant golden yellow color with fine, persistent effervescence. The nose is dominated by white and yellow fruits (pear, apple, peach), citrus notes of mandarin and grapefruit, and brioche. On the palate, Pinot Noir provides structure with flavors of pear, peach and pastry, while lees aging adds dried-fruit complexity, finishing with chalky coolness.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs well with contemporary casual cuisine -- burgers, wok vegetables, maki, tartare, carpaccio and crisp salads.
