Viognier
Domaine de Grangeneuve

About the Wine
This Viognier is produced from grapes grown on clay-limestone terraces known geologically as “Glacis de Grangeneuve,” composed of surface brown clay and alluvial pebbles from the erosion of the Moulon massif. Grapes are de-stemmed and gently pressed under inert gas. Fermentation and aging take place in high-quality French oak barrels—228L and demi-muids (500L and 600L)—with 10 months of aging on fine lees and regular stirring. This meticulous process results in a wine of structure, roundness, and elegance.

Tasting Notes
The wine has a clear, brilliant appearance with intense yellow and light golden reflections. Aromas are complex and seductive, offering stone fruit (apricot nectar), exotic notes (coconut), and sweet spices (vanilla). The palate is generous, structured, and round, with great balance and length. Aromatic persistence is long, finishing with suave freshness.

Pairing Notes
This wine pairs beautifully with scallops, smoked salmon with peppers, or truffle scrambled eggs as starters. It complements main dishes such as poultry with cream and oriental spices (curry or turmeric), or seafood like salmon gravlax, red mullet, turbot, sole, St. Pierre, monkfish, or sea bream in sauce. Ideal accompaniments include risotto with parmesan, saffron, or truffle, and pressed cheeses such as summer Beaufort, aged Comté, and aged Tomme de Brebis.
