Profile & Story
Laura Brennan Bissell founded Inconnu in 2012 to explore a subtler, more elegant style of California wine, working with organic and regeneratively farmed vineyards and avoiding new oak. ‘No Gods No Masters’ is sourced mainly from Clarksburg with some Carneros fruit, hand-harvested, indigenous-yeast fermented, and aged just over a year in neutral barrel, from gravelly loam, river-rock, and sedimentary clay soils.
Tasting Notes
Medium-bodied and bright, with high-toned red and blue fruit, ripe cherry and blackberry, black pepper, and refreshing acidity with gentle, chalky tannins - a livelier, less oaky take on California Cabernet.
Pairing Recommendation
Good with a burger, roast chicken, or grilled vegetables - lighter fare than a typical big California Cabernet.
