Bodegas Ontañón is a fifth-generation family winery in Rioja Oriental (formerly Rioja Baja), run by siblings Raquel, Rubén, and María Pérez Cuevas continuing their father Gabriel's work. Ontañón Crianza blends Tempranillo from the La Montesa vineyard with Garnacha from Siete Caminos, aged 12 months in 60% American and 40% French oak (new and used barrels), followed by a further 12 months in bottle before release.
Tasting Notes
Classic style of a Tempranillo-Garnacha Rioja: red-berry and baking-spice aromas with a fine, medium-bodied palate, juicy red fruit, and firm, well-integrated tannins (per critic tasting notes on recent vintages).
