Castello Banfi, founded in Montalcino in 1978 by the Italian-American Mariani brothers, is known for pioneering clonal research in Tuscany. Belnero is their refined red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, a Toscana IGT built from that clonal work.
