Profile & Story
2021 will be remembered as a vintage of character, dynamic, unpredictable. It began with a mild winter, which led to an early budding, and continued with a rainy and cool spring, characterized by particularly cold days which led to a slowdown in the growth of the buds. Despite the exceptional drops in temperature in April, the vines were affected in a limited way, thanks to the position of the vineyards which, located on a hillock at an altitude of 400-450 metres, enjoy a constant breeze which keeps the plants dry and healthy, avoiding the danger of frost. The prolonged absence of rainfall in the period from May to the first half of July favored flowering and fruit setting. The dry and drought summer ended with a perturbation at the end of August which brought, in just two days of constant rain, as much as 80mm of water, a precious gift of nature which brought the water balance back to optimal levels. The harvest began on September 23rd and ended on September 30th. We brought perfectly ripe grapes to the cellar, with thick and crunchy berries that will allow for good maceration.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red color not excessively deep, with light garnet reflections. On the nose, floral aromas of violet, cyclamen and jasmine, notes of fresh fruit and spicy hints. In the mouth it is well balanced, with a good structure and acidity as well as very smooth tannins, showing excellent persistence.
