About the Wine

Our 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from some of the oldest planted Cabernet Sauvignon in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles. Old vines Cabernet Sauvignon is hard to come by in California and even harder in Paso Robles which makes this wine special out of the gate. Typically, old vines produce small berries filled with highly concentrated and flavorful juice translating into wines of distinct character and complexity. Pictured on the label are Joe and Dorothy San Filippo, our grandparents. This was their wedding day in Chicago - Joe Sicilian immigrant, Dorothy an Indiana native. Joe didn’t speak much English and Dorothy didn’t speak much Italian. As my father says, "they didn’t need to speak the same language because they spoke the language of love". We thought this was a fitting photo for Cabernet Sauvignon because Cab has a reputation of producing big and masculine wines. Although our Cabernet is more of a restrained and elegant wine, we thought Joe San Filippo was giving of some serious Sicilian vibes that matches the reputation of Cabernet. 56 cases produced
