Comte Lafond is Baron Patrick de Ladoucette's Sancerre estate, established when the family -- already renowned for Pouilly-Fume -- expanded onto the Loire's right bank. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc is drawn from 25-35 year-old vines around Bue, Chavignol, Verdigny and Chaudoux on clay-limestone-flint soils.
Tasting Notes
Pale gold; citrus, white peach, pear and honey with hints of peppermint, gooseberry and chalky minerality; racy acidity balanced by real body and a long, stony, lemony finish.
