2021 Grenache and Mourvèdre Rosé
2021, California, USA
About the Wine
This medium-sweet blend of 58% Grenache and 42% Mourvèdre features a pale pinkish-brick hue and aromas of tropical fruit, strawberry candy, and a hint of eucalyptus. Grown in Lodi, CA, and stainless steel fermented, it offers a light, zippy palate with 12.5% ABV, making it perfect for pizza or spicy street tacos. Limited to 200 cases, it includes complimentary shipping on 6+ bottles and free hand delivery in San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties.
Tasting Notes
Pale, transparent pinkish brick color and fragrant aroma suggesting tropical fruit and (a scent familiar to many a novice wine lover) Strawberry Jolly Ranchers, plus a smidgen of dusty, almost menthol-like eucalyptus. The freshness in the nose follows up in an off-dry palate feel that is light (11.8% alcohol) and zippy with fresh fruit acidity.
Pairing Notes
An ideal wine for pizza (I'd go with anchovy, bell pepper, mushrooms, and olives) and any spicy street taco (from seafood to carne asada and Cabeza).
