Profile & Story
La Roncaia was founded in 1998 when the Fantinel family acquired the estate in Friuli's Colli Orientali, one of Italy's most prestigious DOC zones. Their Merlot (often labeled 'Il Fusco') uses a partial-drying technique known locally as passitura before an extended barrique aging of around 18 months.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in color with aromas of black cherry, plum and light spice from oak aging; a full, velvety palate with soft tannin and a long finish.
