Cantina Ratti is based in a 15th-century abbey in La Morra and is best known for Barolo, but also sources fruit from the Asti hills -- including the historic Villa Pattono vineyard in Costigliole d'Asti -- for its Battaglione Barbera d'Asti, named for the 'soldier' label recalling the heroism of Piedmontese regiments.
Tasting Notes
Intense red color with aromas of ripe cherry, plum and violet; medium-bodied with lively acidity, soft tannin and flavors of red berry and licorice on a clean, spicy finish.
