Profile & Story
Finca Allende was founded by Miguel Angel de Gregorio in Briones, Rioja Alta, farming 55-year-old, high-density, goblet-trained vines on clay soils with deep gravel under sustainable, herbicide-free viticulture. The Blanco is a 95% Viura, 5% Malvasia blend: grapes are gently pressed, the must settled 48 hours, then fermented in new French oak for 28 days at 20C. The wine ages 14 months in French oak, the first seven months on lees with twice-weekly batonnage, then seven months post-racking without lees.
Tasting Notes
Golden yellow with lemony highlights and total clarity; an elegant, understated nose of grapefruit and stone fruit (peach, greengage plum) with light balsamic notes; a rich, textured palate, full in volume yet light on its feet, closing with remarkably long persistence.
