Profile & Story
Domaine Pierre Martin farms roughly 4 hectares in Chavignol, Sancerre's most storied village, taken over by Pierre after working alongside his father Yves. Vines over 30 years old are grown organically, without herbicides or pesticides, on the village's two classic soils, caillottes (chalky pebbles) and terres blanches (clay-limestone). The 100% Sauvignon Blanc ferments with indigenous yeast and is both fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw-gold Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre; crisp citrus and gooseberry over a flinty, chalky minerality typical of the Loire, with a saline edge and bright acidity carrying to a clean, dry finish.
