Profile & Story

Clotilde Legrand took over her family's estate in Varrains, Saumur, in 2014 -- the first woman to lead a lineage of winemakers dating to the 17th century. The family farms 16 hectares of Cabernet Franc across twenty parcels in Saumur, Dampierre, Chace, Varrains, and Souzy-Champigny, with an average vine age of 45 years. Les Lizieres is her entry-level, young-vine cuvee, fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel.

Tasting Notes

Fruit-driven and juicy, with ripe red fruit, leafy notes, and a crunchy texture that keeps it vibrant despite its approachable style.
