Profile & Story

Cantina Giardino was founded by Antonio and Daniela De Gruttola in Ariano Irpino, in the mountains of Irpinia, Campania, with a mission to rescue and replant old, abandoned vineyard parcels across the region. Rosso Re is part of their NATURE line, made from old-vine Aglianico grown on high-altitude volcanic soils. The destemmed grapes macerate for about three weeks before nine months of aging in chestnut casks, with no sulfites added.

Tasting Notes

Earthy and mineral-driven, with notes of wet stone and leather over black and red berries — blackberry, cherry, cranberry — alongside herbal, briny, and olive undertones and a spice of pepper and thyme. Restaurant's Notes: Grape Aglianico, notes of black fruit, olive, herbs, and brine pack all the dark, savory complexity. Simple, pure, and charming wine
