Profile & Story

Field Recordings was founded in 2007 by Andrew Jones, a Central Coast vineyard nursery fieldman whose access to small lots of premium, lesser-known fruit shaped the winery's flavor-forward, single-vineyard approach. Skins is part of the winery's dedicated orange-wine collection, made with extended skin contact for added texture and color.

Tasting Notes

Blood orange and fresh peach are accented by ginger, with a textured, bright skin-contact character. Restaurant's Notes: Chenin Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris grapes are destemmed and spontaneously fermented on skins for 23 to 46 days before pressing to neutral barrels. Aged 4 months in neutral French oak. Blended, filtered, bottled with a small addition of sulfur. This wine offers luscious notes of ripe apricot and vibrant Haitian orange, balanced by a delicate touch of marzipan for a rich yet refreshing finish
