Profile & Story
Kapistoni is a family winery in Saguramo village, in Georgia's Mtskheta region, run by the Chochishvili family across seven generations of winemaking within a certified Eco-Zone. The estate is built around Georgia's roughly 8,000-year-old qvevri tradition, recognized by UNESCO, working with indigenous grapes from the Kartli and Kakheti regions. Chinebuli is made from 100% of the Chinebuli grape, hand-harvested and vinified in qvevri in the traditional Kartlian style.
Tasting Notes
Medium dark amber in color, with layered aromas of green apple, yellow-fleshed apricot and grated citrus peel joined by almond, honey and cherry blossom. The palate shows pickled walnut and toasted almond, finishing with a note of grated green lemon peel.
