Profile & Story
La Distesa is the estate of Corrado Dottori in San Michele, just outside Cupramontana in the heart of the Castelli di Jesi in the Marche. Terre Silvate is the wine that best represents the domaine: an assemblage of Verdicchio and Trebbiano from three vineyards with different soils and exposures, hand-harvested between late August and late September. It ferments spontaneously and ages in large cement tanks on its fine lees until Easter, with about 20% of the fruit given a short skin contact for added grip, making it one of the first wines of the new vintage to be bottled and released.
Tasting Notes
Straw-yellow in color, Terre Silvate shows delicate aromas of unripe apple, citrus and white flowers with herbal lift. The palate is clean, saline and nutty, dry with lively acidity, gaining soft honeyed and almond tones as it evolves in bottle. Restaurant's Notes: Grapes Verdicchio, Trebbiano. Open and expressive in its youth, it pairs stone fruits, brine, and a pleasant, almond-like bitterness to great effect
