Profile & Story

Las Jaras Wines sources fruit from old, dry-farmed vineyards along California's North Coast, working with a philosophy the team calls the 'cleaner side of natural.' The 2022 Rosé blends 75% Zinfandel and 23% Carignan from the certified-organic, head-trained old vines of the Gary Venturi vineyard in Calpella, Mendocino County, with 2% Vermentino from the neighboring Larry Venturi vineyard. The Carignan is whole-cluster pressed for a savory, mineral texture, while the Zinfandel is destemmed and pressed with its stems to preserve red fruit character. The wine ferments with native yeast, ages on its lees, and is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes

A savory, food-friendly rosé with blue-toned fruit — blueberry, boysenberry, hibiscus — alongside bright lime and green strawberry and a mineral edge. Light in texture with a bone-dry finish. Restaurant's Notes: Grape Zinfandel, Carignon and Vermintino. On the nose, the rosé is all about savory blue tones of blueberry, boysenberry, and hibiscus. On the palette, it is packed with electric sensations of lime, green strawberry and minerality, with a bone-dry finish, it is textually very light
