Profile & Story
Poggiosecco is a certified organic (since 2004) and biodynamic (since 2009) estate in the Montalbano hills of Chianti, run by Marco Filipello and Giuseppe Pluchino, one of the founding members of the Consorzio del Chianti. Their Chianti DOCG is built from Sangiovese with a small portion of Malvasia Nera, all farmed biodynamically. Grapes are gently destemmed and crushed, then fermented with indigenous yeasts before aging twelve months in cement tanks and a further six months in bottle before release.
Tasting Notes
A bright, classically styled Chianti with ripe berry fruit, notes of clove and wild herbs, and fine, well-integrated tannins that carry through a natural, balanced finish. Restaurant's Notes: Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera grapes offer the expression of authentic Tuscany. Bright ruby red color, aromas are intense and have fruity notes with hints of red fruits and a hint of spicy clove. It is an harmonious wine with great balance between tannins and acidity. It is clean and elegant with a good persistence
