This amber qvevri wine is 100% Kisi from Stori, a small Kakhetian winery near Tsinandali known for aging its wines in traditional qvevri cellars and for holding an unusually deep library of back vintages. After fermentation the qvevri is sealed for several months of extended skin contact, and only the clearest top layer of wine, roughly the first 30% drawn off, is bottled and exported, leaving a wine with real depth and structure despite being unfiltered.

Tasting Notes

Full-bodied and complete on the palate, with lots of citrus character alongside lemon curd, acacia, quince and apricot and other stone fruit; grippy and concentrated up front with dusty tannins, the wine melts into a smooth, layered, long and satisfying finish.
