Champagne Pierre Peters is a sixth-generation grower-producer family estate in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, at the heart of the Cote des Blancs, producing Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne exclusively from its own roughly 19 hectares of Chardonnay since 1919. The estate, now run by Rodolphe Peters, draws its fruit from Grand Cru vineyards in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant. Reserve Oubliee ("forgotten reserve") is built from a perpetual reserve of wines dating back to 1988, with the base wine given an extra year of tank aging before tirage to build maturity without oxidation.
Tasting Notes
Meyer lemon, baked apple, white peach, toasted brioche, roasted hazelnut, honeycomb and crushed chalk on the nose; the palate is creamy yet precise, with a silky mousse, vibrant acidity, the hallmark chalky minerality of the Cote des Blancs, and a long, saline finish.
