The Franzen family has farmed vines in Bremm, on the steep, terraced Terrassenmosel, for generations. Ulrich Franzen took over the estate from his grandparents in the early 1980s and redirected it toward dry, low-alcohol wines. Elbling, one of Europe's oldest cultivated grape varieties, is planted on the estate's sandy soils alongside Weissburgunder and Riesling.
