Casal de Ventozela is a family-run estate of 45 sustainably farmed hectares in the heart of Portugal's Vinho Verde region, with vineyards in the Vale do Ave and Vale do Covado. Its history dates to 1874; director Jose Ferrera Cortinhas revived the property after 1974, and its first wines were bottled in 2008, made by Fernando Moura and Pedro Campos. Pseudónimo is a pét-nat of Loureiro and Trajadura: after a pre-fermentation maceration the grapes are pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled tanks, then bottled before fermentation is complete so the wine finishes it in the bottle. It is neither disgorged nor filtered, so it pours naturally cloudy with some sediment.
