Domaine Jacky Marteau is a family estate of 29 hectares on the south bank of the Cher River in Touraine, in France's Loire Valley. Siblings Ludivine and Rodolphe Marteau, the fourth generation of a winemaking family, took over the property in 2010 after training alongside their parents, and Ludivine, known as Lulu, now leads the domaine and gives this cuvée its name. The Gamay comes from vines planted in the 1980s on clay and limestone with Kimmeridgian topsoil, farmed sustainably and picked by hand. It is made by semi-carbonic maceration in vat, with destemmed fruit at the bottom and whole bunches on top, and rests on its fine lees until bottling in spring. The wine is vegan, and around 24,000 bottles are made.
