Profile & Story

Meinklang is the Michlits family's Demeter-certified biodynamic farm in Burgenland, in eastern Austria, combining vineyards, orchards and fields with a herd of Angus and Aubrac cattle whose manure feeds the soils. Weisser Mulatschak is an orange blend of Welschriesling with Pinot Gris and Traminer, grown on sandy loam and rocky soils. The grapes macerate on their skins for five to seven days and ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in steel; the wine is aged on its fine lees and bottled unfiltered, and it is vegan.
