Lulu is a Touraine Gamay from Domaine Jacky Marteau, a fourth-generation family estate of 29 sustainably farmed hectares on the south bank of the Cher. Siblings Ludivine and Rodolphe Marteau bought the property in 2010, and since 2021 Ludivine, whose nickname is Lulu, has run it on her own. The Gamay comes from vines planted in the 1980s on clay and limestone with a Kimmeridgian topsoil. It is hand-harvested and made by semi-carbonic maceration in vat, with the destemmed portion of the harvest at the bottom and whole bunches on top, then rests on its fine lees until bottling in the spring.
