Barig comes from Weingut Familie Bauer, the certified-organic estate of Josef and Eva Maria Bauer in Grossriedenthal in the Wagram. This orange wine blends equal parts Roter Veltliner and Gruner Veltliner from vines planted as early as 1956; the hand-harvested grapes macerate on their skins for about two months, and the wine then rests on its lees, which builds its round, textural character.
