Profile & Story
Bodega Dehesa de Luna farms a 3,000-hectare estate in Castilla-La Mancha of which only a third is planted, with vines growing alongside olives, almonds, pistachios, lentils and cereals, all farmed organically; the winery belongs to the Spanish Association of Organic Wineries and holds IFS, ISO 14001 and Wineries for Climate Protection certification. Luna Lunera is its youngest and most casual range. This bottling is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, organic and vegan, unaged, under the PGI Vino de la Tierra de Castilla. The must came from a gentle pressing and fermented for 15 days at 14C with no pre-fermentation maceration; fermentation was stopped before completion to leave a small amount of residual sugar. 13% alcohol.
Tasting Notes
Bright pale yellow with steely legs. Good aromatic intensity, with citrus and tropical notes such as passion fruit and grapefruit alongside herbal aromas of fennel. The same aromas return in the mouth; a robust and very pleasant wine, with a marked acidity that provides freshness and vivacity, compensated by a slightly sweet finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Dehesa de Luna suggests it on its own as a drink, or with appetisers and light dishes.
