Profile & Story
Bodegas Escudero, trading as Familia Escudero, works from Gravalos in La Rioja and bottles Logos II under DO Navarra. It is a vino de guarda, crafted to age for many years in bottle to reach its maximum potential: 60% Garnacha, 20% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet and 10% Merlot. Fermentation runs in stainless steel with the vineyard's own indigenous yeasts at a controlled 30C, with a total maceration of 25 days; the wine is then transferred to fine American oak barrels for fourteen months, racked four times during ageing, and after bottling spends five years in the bottle cellar before release. 14% alcohol. Gold at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2017, gold at the Concours International Grenaches du Monde and gold at the Berliner Wein Trophy 2020.
Tasting Notes
Cherry colour with dark garnet tones. On the nose, aromas of the maceration and of Garnacha fruit, enhanced by the contribution of the noble oak. The palate is fine, elegant and unctuous, with a long, persistent aftertaste.

Familia Escudero pairs it with semi-aged sheep's cheese, roasted red meat and game.
