Profile & Story

PradoRey bottles Finca la Mina from a single vineyard of the same name in Ribera del Duero, sitting at 807 to 820 metres on deep sandy-loam soils with a limestone content that suits long-aged wines. It is 100% Tempranillo, harvested manually, made in limited quantity and only in exceptional vintages with the potential for long maturation in barrel and bottle, then aged eighteen months in French oak barrels followed by six months in Nevers oak vats.

Tasting Notes

Very bright, deep cherry-red. Complex and elegant on the nose, with stewed red fruit and ripe dark fruit predominating, balsamic, spicy and smoky, rich in tertiary aromas and showing real bouquet. Silky on entry, with interesting, long-lasting ripe tannins and very pleasant velvety, balsamic and ripe-fruit sensations.

Pairing Recommendation

PradoRey pairs it with furred and feathered game, complex casseroles and sauces, gelatinous meats such as tripe and oxtail, and bitter chocolate.
