This Rioja Tempranillo is Socarrat's own house red, poured by the glass across the restaurant's New York rooms; the label is the restaurant's and no separate producer is published for it. Tempranillo is the dominant variety of Rioja, grown on the clay-limestone and alluvial terraces of the Ebro valley, and in a young, everyday style it gives the supple, red-fruited wine the restaurant serves alongside its paellas and tapas.
