Adrien Berlioz took over family vineyards in the village of Chignin in 2006, founding the Cellier des Cray and farming biodynamically across five hectares he has deliberately kept small to focus on quality. Grand Zeph is a parcel-specific cuvée of Bergeron, the local name for Roussanne, named in tribute to his grandfather Joseph; the vines grow on the steep, south-facing Côtes, a terroir of silty, chalky soil over crumbly rock, and the wine ferments naturally in vat with light lees-stirring over six to eight months.
