Profile & Story
TR Tállya Radicals was founded in 2012 by four friends — Anikó, Dénes, János and Pál — who set out to revive winemaking in the village of Tállya, in the Tokaj region, farming their 3.5-hectare Palota vineyard organically from the start. Édes is a late-harvest blend of 80% Furmint and 20% Hárslevelű, hand-harvested in mid-October, fermented spontaneously with native yeast, and aged eight months in 300-liter Hungarian oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
An ambrosial sweet wine with aromas and flavors of apricot, passion fruit, tangerine and lychee lifted by a hint of spearmint; at roughly 76 grams per liter of residual sugar it sits firmly in dessert-wine territory, though noticeably lighter than a traditional high-puttonyos Tokaji.
Pairing Recommendation
Suited to fruit-based desserts or firm, aged cheeses in the classic Tokaji style.
