Profile & Story
Folias de Baco's Uivo Renegado is a Douro field blend from very old vines, naturally farmed with minimal intervention in the cellar. The 2024 draws on more than 25 native grape varieties in a roughly 50/50 white and red mix, from vines over 70 years old in Cima Corgo (Alijo) at 650 m on schist and granite. Whole clusters are foot-trodden, macerate three days, and ferment in used barrels (5%) and cement tanks. Alcohol 11.5%; 34,600 bottles produced.
Tasting Notes
Bright and light red in colour. Intense nose, full of fruit and herbal notes with a slight toast note. The mouth is light and refreshing, very smooth, with an almost salivating acidity - very drinkable and savoury, without alcohol weight.
Pairing Recommendation
Serve chilled at 8-10 C, to enjoy by itself or with grilled meats and oily fishes, or as a summer afternoon aperitif.
