Profile & Story

Verget was created in 1990 by Jean-Marie Guffens of Guffens-Heynen, buying fruit from selected Maconnais growers and pressing and vinifying each plot separately. Terres de Pierres blends fruit from four Macon climats: clay-based Vire plus the limestone-dense Bussieres, Pierreclos and Vergisson. The wine is fermented and aged four additional months in horizontal stainless tanks without racking. Production is around 10,000 bottles.
