Profile & Story

Petra is the Suvereto, Tuscany estate of father-and-daughter team Vittorio and Francesca Moretti (also owners of Franciacorta's Bellavista and Contadi Castaldi), with cellars designed by architect Mario Botta. Zingari began as an experimental vineyard testing Syrah, Merlot, Sangiovese and Petit Verdot, named for the ancient spring along the Via Aurelia pilgrim route where "zingari" (gypsies) once stopped. Zingari is no longer part of Petra's current estate lineup; the wine is imported to the US by Monsieur Touton Selection.
