Ktima Driopi's base Nemea PDO Agiorgitiko, from the same 800m-altitude, clay-limestone-soil estate as Ktima Driopi's rosé. Classic red winemaking with short skin contact (5-6 days), matured 8-10 months in used French oak barrels. Vines aged 10-20 years, harvested mid-to-late September.
Tasting Notes
Pronounced aromas of red fruits, nuts and sweet spices with a vanilla finish. Dry, with balanced acidity and soft, velvety tannins. Drinks well young but can also age 3-5 years.
Pairing Recommendation
Meat dishes with light red sauces, white meats (e.g. chicken with hilopites), giouvetsi with eggplant purée, octopus cooked in vinegar.
