Rapsani Old Vines comes from vines over 60-70 years old with very small yields and strict fruit selection. Rapsani PDO (established 1932) requires the classic blend of Xinomavro, Krasato and Stavroto. Matured in French oak barrels for 18 months, then bottle-aged for a year. Dougos Winery was founded by Dimitrios Dougos in 1983, now run by his children Thanos and Louisa; vineyards at 550-700m on the NE slopes of Mount Olympus, organically cultivated and DIO-certified.
Tasting Notes
Savoury and mineral with a core of herbs and incense along bright red fruit. Well structured and elegant on the palate.
