Alexakis Winery, the largest private winery in Crete, is a family business founded by Stelios Alexakis (chemical engineer-oenologist) and Sofia Alexaki in the 1970s, based in Peridi Metohi, Heraklion. 100% Vidiano vinified with skin contact for an orange-wine style.
Tasting Notes
Bright golden colour with novel, savoury aromatics of sage, pear, earth and undergrowth. Round body with elegant light tannins and a finish of citrus and marzipan notes. A powerful wine that can benefit from ~30 minutes of gentle decanting.
