Profile & Story

Masut da Rive is a family-run winery in Friuli-Venezia Giulia managed for four generations by the Gallo family, who converted to wine production in the 1980s and have grown Pinot Nero since 1985, pioneering the variety in the region. This Pinot Nero is a DOC Isonzo del Friuli made from 100% French Pinot Nero clones.

Tasting Notes

After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, this Pinot Nero ages twelve months in French oak barriques; Friuli's Pinot Nero, grown at the same latitude as Burgundy and Oregon, typically shows fruity aromas of cherry, blackberry and raspberry.
