Profile & Story

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc put New Zealand on the wine map; fruit from the Wairau Valley's Rapaura, Renwick, and Brancott Valley sub-regions (Estate, Motukawa, Widow's Block, Red Shed, Mustang vineyards), free-draining gravelly soils, warm dry maritime climate. Over 90 individual vineyard batches ferment separately; the team selects the batches that make the final wine each year. 2025 had unusually large bunches and prolonged ripening. 13.5% alcohol.

Tasting Notes

Open and expressive, notes of peach, elderflower, makrut lime, and freshly squeezed lemon; bright lemon curd-like notes layer over subtle white nectarine, sea salt, and dune grass, poised mid-palate, steel-cut citrus acidity, elegant finish.

Pairing Recommendation

A natural match for almost any seafood — tempura oysters, sashimi, steamed mussels with garlic/citrus/parsley — along with green salads and goat's cheese.
