Profile & Story
Inniskillin was founded in 1975 by Donald Ziraldo and Karl Kaiser, Canada's first winery license since Prohibition, pioneering Canadian Icewine internationally (1989 Vidal Icewine won Grand Prix d'Honneur at Vinexpo 1991). Fruit from Niagara Peninsula vineyards. Per VQA Icewine standards, Vidal grapes are hand-harvested only once frozen to -8°C or colder, pressed within an hour while frozen. 2019 Vidal Icewine: 9.5% ABV, 250 g/L residual sugar, 9.79 g/L total acidity.
Tasting Notes
Tropical fruit character — orange, mango and lemon — with peach and apricot flavors balanced by fresh, crisp, lively acidity; intensely flavored, lingering peach and apricot nuances.
